Magnesium Anode Cathodic Protection

Wstitanium manufactures magnesium sacrificial anodes of various geometric shapes, sizes, and weights (pure magnesium anodes, magnesium-manganese anodes, and magnesium-aluminum-zinc anodes), and is a recognized leader in the cathodic protection and corrosion prevention industry in China. The composition of Wstitanium’s magnesium sacrificial anodes conforms to ASTMB843, ASTMG97, and EN 12438 standards. Furthermore, Wstitanium has invested in a foundry with a quality management system compliant with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Magnesium galvanic anodes have high chemical activity and a more negative electrode potential, resulting in a higher driving voltage, and are used in cathodic protection systems in saltwater and freshwater. They are applied to prevent corrosion of buried pipelines, offshore platforms, and steel structures in various environments, including: ships, hulls, water storage tanks, docks, piers, wharves, and berths; pipelines; heat exchangers, etc. In recent years, several innovations have emerged in the magnesium anode industry, one significant innovation being the Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system (standard backfill material: 75% gypsum, 20% bentonite, 5% sodium sulfate). This system combines electronic computing with electrochemistry to provide superior corrosion protection.
